The teen center is open on school days
Mon-Thu 3:00 - 5:30 pm
Fridays 1:00 - 5:30 pm
The center is open to all Benicia residents or Benicia Unified School District students 13 to 19 years old, and their guests.
We hold a number of in-person/virtual events, as well as promote content related to spreading awareness for the special topic.
KHF offers forums and educational workshops several times throughout the year. These events specifically focus on issues pertaining to teens such as bullying, substance abuse, and LGBTQ+ issues.
The scholarship is focused on supporting those students who have worked diligently to overcome obstacles or hardships in their lives.
The KHF is a nonprofit organization that was founded in May 2015 as a legacy for Kyle Hyland who died by suicide in December 2014, two weeks before his 17th birthday.
In addition to maintaining a teen center in Benicia as well as providing mental health programs and other services to youth, the goal of the Kyle Hyland Foundation is to prevent any other family in Benicia from experiencing the pain and the loss that Kyle’s family suffered.
The mission of the Kyle Hyland Foundation for Teen Support is to provide charitable and educational support to teens by offering mental health programs and other services, and to maintain a center where teens can be provided emotional support through mentoring, counseling music, and art.
If You’re Thinking About Suicide, Are Worried About A Friend Or Loved One, Or Would Like Emotional Support, There are Resources Available 24/7 To You.
