RISE Benicia KHF Scholarship Program

  1. The R.I.S.E. BENICIA KHF SCHOLARSHIP (Recognizing Individuality with Support and Empowerment) offers scholarships up to $500 each for up to 4 graduating seniors. This program was established in Feb 2020 through a partnership with the Zada family who donated excess funds from the “March of Our Lives” event.  The program is sustained through directed donations from local businesses and the community.  Several scholarships are provided to college- or trade school- bound seniors each year.  Applicants are accepted from both Benicia High School and Liberty High School.  Scholarship selection is based on responses to questions either by essay or by other format such as video, artwork, or other creative way to communicate answers to the questions. This scholarship targets students that have worked very hard to overcome obstacles or hardships in their lives rather than those students that have the perfect academic record, are the best athletes or have many accomplishments.

The scholarship is open to all graduating seniors from Benicia High School and Liberty High School who:

  • Have at least a 2.5 GPA (GPA will not be a component in determining scholarship recipient).
  • Are in good standing at their school.

Notes: All work submitted must be the original work of the student.  Scholarship must be used for tuition/books for a university, community college or trade school.
