Teen/Community Awareness

Teen/Community Awareness Program:

The Teen/Community Awareness Program is a new program initiated in January 2021, the purpose of which is to spread awareness in teens as well as the general community on subjects that are vitally important to youth such as: Cultural Diversity, Teen Dating Violence, Gender Equality, Bullying/Cyberbullying, Mental Wellness, Suicide Prevention and Substance Abuse.  We have partnered with Benicia High School clubs to help develop content and promote this new program.  In addition, the goal for each campaign is to have a city proclamation in recognition of the event.  Initially these campaigns will be primarily held virtually through social media and virtual presentations (in collaboration with Solano County Office of Education, Solano Pride, Solano National Alliance on Mental Illness, local therapists and other organizations) but the plan is to bring the program to Benicia High School, Benicia Middle School (BMS), and Liberty High School in the fall of 2021.

This program is made possible by funding from the County of Solano.
